Epiduo

Acne Treatment

Acne is such a widespread condition in humans; it seems everyone deals with it at some point in their lives. Many people get it out of their system by adulthood, but it can be a crippling affliction for adults too. Given the wide array of causes of acne, there is also a variety of treatments that aim to clear up acne breakouts by different methods. Some, like Epiduo, require a visit to the dermatologist and a doctor’s prescription in order for you to use them.

What is Epiduo?

Epiduo is an acne treatment gel available by prescription only. It combines two relatively well-known acne fighting ingredients into one gel and claims to effectively reduce acne by up to 18% in the first week. This is not much of a claim, since we have seen other acne treatments that can reduce acne much more drastically and sometimes completely clear up your skin. Considering that Epiduo requires a prescription, there are much more powerful acne-fighting gels on the market that do not require a doctor’s visit to obtain.

What is in Epiduo?

The active, acne-fighting ingredients found in Epiduo are:

  1. Benzoyl Peroxide – One of the most common acne treatment ingredients, it kills bacteria and reduces inflammation. Only works for treatment of blemishes that are already present. Can be responsible for skin redness and irritation.
  2. Adapalene – Clears clogged pores and supposedly prevents new breakouts from forming, largely responsible for harmful side effects associated with use of Epiduo.

Does Epiduo Work?

Can Epiduo live up to its claims and promises? The answer is probably. For some people, it should certainly help out their skin. They only suggest that it will help reduce blemishes by 10-15% in most cases, and that is not much to promise. The big problem with Epiduo is the cost to effectiveness ratio. They charge ate least $35 to get the prescription, while so many cheaper products can offer much stronger results. Plus, Epiduo is not backed by a satisfaction guarantee. We recommend only purchasing skin-care products that come with money back guarantees. Peoples’ skin-types vary so widely that a product that works great for one person may not help another person at all. Also, when you factor in a time-consuming and potentially costly visit to the dermatologist, it seems that Epiduo is simply not worth the trouble.

Clearing Up Acne

If you are afflicted with a mild to moderate case of acne, we suggest you do some research on the internet and find a cheap, well-made acne treatment that will clear up your skin in no time. Read through customer product reviews to find ones that look good and ensure that your purchase comes with a satisfaction guarantee of some kind. This way, you have nothing to lose! Epiduo offers common acne treatment ingredients at a high cost. Odds are that if you have tried any acne treatment products at all, you have already used one or both of the active ingredients in Epiduo. We suggest you look elsewhere for your acne solutions.
